Jessica Ann Moore, co-founder of Drop Out to Degree Program and an honors student at Seton Hall University majoring in Psychology was tragically shot and later died of her injuries on September 25, 2010 as she attended a fraternity party. A senseless crime took our angel home too soon. This tragedy has affected people all across the country and inspired many to action.
Jessica, a loving, sweet, and caring person that was always willing to help her fellow man performed a heroic action that night. An altercation occurred with a man that was not admitted to the fraternity party that she was attending. Within minutes the man returned, kicked in the door and began firing a gun. Jessica's friend was shot in the face. Jessica in a heroic fashion attempted to shield her friend from further injury and was shot in the back of the head as a result. Jessica died from her injuries at 3:20 pm on September 25, 2010.
Jessica was an aspiring singer. She had recorded two singles and was scheduled to audition at the Apollo Theater in New York on October 3, 2010. She was in the process of pursuing a promising musical career. Jessica's professional goal was to become a Therapist specializing in helping men and women in the military who were suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Jessica never got to realize her goals because her life was cut short by a senseless crime.
Jessica's body was taken from this earth but not her spirit. Family and friends have promised to continue Jessica's goals with the Drop Out to Degree program and spread the love of one another that Jessica lived by each day of her life.
Jessica's music will continue to be sold with all funds going to the Drop Out to Degree program.
